Trades resume template

A practical resume built for hands-on work

Present trade qualifications, tickets, site experience and reliable results in a clean format employers can scan quickly.

What a strong trades resume should show

Trades employers need evidence that you can work safely, solve practical problems and deliver to standard. Put your trade, licences and most relevant experience near the top, then support them with specific examples.

Tickets and licences

List current qualifications such as White Card, forklift, working at heights, confined spaces, HR licence or trade registration. Include expiry dates only when useful.

Tools and equipment

Name equipment and systems you can genuinely operate, alongside maintenance, installation, fault-finding or fabrication capability.

Safety and quality

Show experience following SWMS, reporting hazards, completing documentation and delivering compliant work.

Write achievement-focused job bullets

  • Completed preventative maintenance across 40 commercial assets while meeting scheduled service windows.
  • Identified and rectified recurring equipment faults, reducing unplanned downtime.
  • Coordinated materials and site access so installation work was completed safely and on schedule.

Use accurate numbers where available, but do not invent them. A clear description of scope and outcome is still valuable.
